Single purpose

Social Feed Purifier hides sponsored posts and user-selected feed clutter from the Facebook feed using private, local detection and controls.

Sponsored post detection

Uses local DOM and post-structure signals instead of relying only on Facebook's visible Sponsored label.

Optional feed cleanup

Lets users opt into filters for suggestions, Reels, Stories, right-rail sponsored boxes, and other feed clutter.

Local feedback

False positives and missed posts can be corrected locally. No feedback is sent to a remote service.

Privacy policy

Social Feed Purifier is a local-only browser extension. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share user data.

Data collection

The extension does not collect user data. Detection runs locally in the browser on Facebook pages where the extension is active.

Local storage

User settings, counters, local classifier weight adjustments, and optional feedback samples are stored in chrome.storage.local on the user's device.

Network use

The extension does not call remote APIs, does not use remote AI services, does not click ads, and does not interact with Facebook APIs.

User controls

Users can disable filters, show or hide placeholders, configure text rules, export local settings, reset local learning, or remove the extension at any time.

Social Feed Purifier is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc. or Facebook.

Support

If a post is hidden incorrectly, use the extension placeholder's Preview, Undo, or false-positive controls. If an unwanted post is missed, use the popup's Feedback section to pick the visible post and classify it locally.

Before requesting help

  • Reload the Facebook tab after installing or updating the extension.
  • Check whether the related feed filter is enabled in the popup.
  • Use the feedback picker for missed sponsored posts, page Follow suggestions, or group Join suggestions.
  • Export local data from the popup if you want to share settings for debugging.
